What is the baggage policy for United Airlines?

Well, United Airlines is one of the busiest and largest airlines. People travels and they need things to keep up with them and they have to carry some luggage with them. Here comes the point, if there are too many people traveling by a single airline then it must be hard to manage both the people and baggage which they are keeping with them. United Airlines is no exception and it has its baggage policy and let's know about it.

First thing first, you will be allowed to carry two carry-on bags and there is a rule for the size of the bags, and this rule state that your bag should be under 22x35x56 cm3. So, here you should never keep something longer than 56 centimeters and broader than 35 centimeters.  Even the location and travel class will decide your bag types. If you are traveling in a basic economy then you can only carry one bag which dimension should be less than the above-mentioned dimensions. Although if you are traveling on the basic economy and boarding a transatlantic flight then there will be a different rule- in this case, you can carry two carry-on bags of the above-mentioned dimensions. If you mistakenly carry two bags with you and you are not traveling on the transatlantic flight then you will be fined for it as well as you have to pay $25 as a handling charge at the gate.

If we talk about the weight of the luggage you can carry with yourself then there is another guideline for it. If you are traveling in the economy or the premium plus then you will have to not carry baggage more than 50 pounds or 22.5 Kg. if we talk about the luggage weight policy for the business and first-class then you will have the limit of 70 pounds or 31.75 kg means you can travel with the maximum luggage with a weight of 31.75 kg.

The most interesting thing is that United Airlines will not allow you those two bags if their combined length is greater than 62 inches or 157 cm. There is something else you should know that- if you are a premium silver, gold platinum, or 1K member then you are allowed to travel with 70 pounds per bag.

There is some advantage for the people with the MileagePlus Premier members and the active US military personnel and dependents. For the personal travel of military personnel, the number of bags is 3 and the maximum size of every bag will be about 158 cm and the maximum weight for every bag should be 32 Kg. if the military personnel is traveling for an official reason then they are allowed 5 bags with the maximum size for per bag is 292cm and the maximum weight for every bag should be 45 kg.
